Happy Thursday! I can't believe its already time for this weeks #ORC post. With all of the pumpkin patch trips and design school projects this week seriously flew by. I wanted to have a tutorial on our DIY wall this week but since it STILL didn't get done well thats just going to have to wait until next week. This week I wanted to share our progress. All of our furniture has come in by now and I'm getting seriously excited about it! Here are some sneak peaks of the playroom thus far...
That rug seriously makes me smile every time I walk by. And the oak chairs against the grays are so good. Im going to white wash the old pink chairs before the final reveal and probably move the play kitchen since no one ever plays with it. Its ridiculous how quickly they lose interest in their toys.
At least they are excited about this super cool bookcase. London thinks its her own personal ladder... Don't worry I plan on securing it to the wall so this little monkey stays safe.
The only thing I'm waiting on is the artwork and window treatments. The rest of the gallery wall I think I'm going to DIY with some of the kids own creations. So originally I wanted to order this fabulous relaxed roman shade for the space. I love love love the casual elegance of this shade, but once I measured out our windows and picked my material I was NOT loving the price. $700 for a roman shade that will inevitably be splattered with play dough and baby boogers?! No thanks.
Since I'm not willing to drop that kind of dough on one stinking shade I had to get creative. Hours of internet stalking later and I found these beauties. They may not be exactly what I wanted but they are still casual and kind of fancy pants so fingers crossed they will work!!
I don't know why it took me so long to think of checking out RHTeen. Its crazy how much cheaper things are on their Baby & Child sites versus Restoration Hardware. Now that I got that design dilemma figured out it's time to slap some more paint on the wall before the baby wakes. She may be cute but she is a horrible painter. Make sure to check out all the other progress going on with the One Room Challenge over at Calling it Home. Thanks for reading!
