Photography Favorites

As a photographer I'm always asked the same three questions. Today I'm answering them. I'm always happy to share my favorite finds!

What camera do you recommend for families?

I'm a Nikon girl so for families I'm going to go with the D3200 bundle that comes with two lenses. This was the camera that fueled my photography fire. My first! This bundle comes with a lens that is great for portraits of your family and then a zoom lens for more action shots. Field trips, soccer games, family vacations. You name it, these two should cover it for your needs.

Where do you have your pictures printed?

I love Nations Photo Lab. I love their selection. I love their customer service. I love their quality and prices. They have never let me down. It is the only place I'll have my pictures printed because the prints are true to color and my images are never distorted.

For our greeting cards, stationary and invitations I use Tiny Prints or Minted. I love sending and receiving mail with photographs of our family and friends. Above is our card from last year created by the Tiny Prints team.

Where should we purchase frames?

I try to break up my frame style from room to room. In our living room and bedrooms I have a lot of Poppy Tree Frames. They have a lot of options when it comes to style, color and size. Typically I style our family pictures around a room that needs pictures. I try to pick out outfits that will go well with our decor. Then afterwards I select frames based on what our photographer provides (landscape or portrait) and a frame color that goes well with both our outfits and our decor in the room.

Recently, I've been working on a gallery wall in our living room with frames from AC Moore. They are old barn wood frames and I immediately fell in love with them. They do not have glass in them but I could have added it if I wanted to. This has been a pricey little wall between prints and the frames so I'm slowly going to add to it over the next few months.

In our office we have a few frames from Anthropologie. They are smaller frames we have displayed on my desk and in our built ins behind my client sitting area. If you're looking to add a gold gallery wall to your home I really love the one below from Pottery Barn.

I hope I've been helpful. I know everyone is trying to finish up their shopping or prepare their home for holiday guests. Just remember the reason for the season. Enjoy these moments with your family! We're trying our best to do the same over here!

  4. This is a sort of contact print photography wherein an article that is touching a photographic plate is associated with a high voltage power source, along these lines making an atmosphere that makes a picture. Some of the time, this kind of get stock photography is alluded to as an Aura Photography.

  5. A lot of people look on wedding photographers as someone who works one 1 day a week doing what they love, and getting paid big bucks for it. This couldn't be further from the truth. Sam Gibson Commercial Photography
